Kick-off Meeting

  1. Involving the Sakai Community
    1. Zach to follow-up with Erik Freose and determine his level of interest and participation
What are the goals for community involvement?
  • Having code merged into Sakai trunk.
  • Position this work in a way that it could be taken further from someone else in the community
  • Understanding the use cases to design for the future, flexibility for incorporting and making updates. This includes outcome results that we would like to achieve.. merged into trunk and into the release, being extended by other members of the community, and the last item would be community adoption. From a process standpoint, exposing thought process, and decisions needed to win community acceptance. Instead of setting up our own project pages and post information to Confluence and Jira for community based projects.
  1. Utilize 2.5.x as the foundation. Work from trunk as the foundation. Milestone builds against 2.5.x. CalDAV work does not have a branch yet. We need to complete work in a branch and this should be a copy of 2.5.x. Should be monitoring trunk of calendar and merging changes into branch for calendar. Clay to follow-up with Beth Kirchner from MI at JA-SIG to follow-up on any planned calendar work. Either process is fine. Zach to follow-up with Subversion list and get branch created and ask for copy of 2.5.x calendar module.
  1. Environments - hosted at Unicon. Need a dataset that will be similar to what is available at GT. Determine what dataset will be for testing. Test environment needs to use Zimbra version 5.0.4. Take an educated data on what this information will look like. Make sure data sets are available for when we move into performance testing. Scope included for Unit tests, what about JMeter? Scope for some performance testing work and see what we have left over at that point. Have an agenda to set the example within the community to include JMeter testing? Is their any Sakai foundation funding to support JMeter testing? This is an action for Michael. Ian and crew are interested in JMeter testing.
