Overview

The Sakai 12 QA Hub is the home page for the Sakai 12 QA effort.

We are testing 12.1 RC01, the a release candidate for Sakai 12.0.  If RC01 completes the next round of QA testing without any blocker bugs RC01 will become Sakai 12.1 GA. GA stands for general availability and will be the latest community supported release.

The QA server is on nightly2.sakaiproject.org and is called Sakai 12.1 Release testing server - RC01 .

Test Plan

Sakai 12.1 RC01 Test plan:

We’re completing basic testing to ensure no obvious blocker bugs or stack traces.

Test several of the major tools: Gradebook (Settings, Export/Import, Grading, Charts and Graphs), Assignments (Submission with groups SAK- 34072), CKEditor, Test and Quizzes (Samigo) M/C and Exceptions,

Plus general testing of other areas of Sakai: site creation, import, calendar, overview, messages, etc.

Reporting:

  1. Sign up to test a tool here.
     
  2. Make a copy of this reporting template (select here) - use your name or portion of your name in the copy's title/name. 
  3.  Save your copy in the Testing Results for 12.1  which is in Sakai QA -> Sakai 12 QA -> Testing Results for 12.1 RC01. Direct link  here 
  4.  Use these scripts for reference.

Weekly QA Planning Calls

The QA Planning Group meets every  Tuesday from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Eastern time . This group guides the overall direction of the Sakai QA effort, creates testing materials and processes, and participates in testing. Meetings agendas and notes can be found in our   Sakai 11 QA Meeting Notes google doc  . All are welcome! We meet in the QA Room in BigBlueButton:

Weekly Test Fests

Join our QA “Test Fests” every Thursday from 10am to 11 am, Eastern time! This is an opportunity to jump into testing Sakai 11 with the support of the QA Team and other community members. You do not need to be an functional expert to get involved! Test Fest agendas and notes can be found in our  Sakai 11 QA Meeting Notes google doc  . We begin our Test Fests in the QA Room in BigBlueButton (see above). Throughout the course of the Test Fest, we communicate using our new SakaiQA channel in Apereo’s Slack instance described below.

Sakai QA Slack Channel

We have a very active Sakai QA channel in Apereo’s Slack instance. We use this for communicating during Tests and Fests and asking QA questions to the group or to individuals anytime. If someone at your institution has already joined, then you can self join at:
