Membership

Please contact the Maint team lead (currently David Horwitz) or Executive Officer (currently Steve Swinsburg) if you are interested in joining the maint team. We require at least a one month commitment for approximately 5 hours per week. Members are expected to focus on maint team issues, participate on the maint team mailing list (mt@collab.sakaiproject.org) weekly, and provide the other members of the team with status updates.

Roles

The roles in the team are chosen by the team members themselves. We have 3 primary areas of focus based on the remit of the team. Team members are not restricted to their areas of focus, it is simply what they are focusing their time on.

  1. JIRA (JIRA maintenance, review of existing issues, review incoming issues, feature requests review 'feature team')
  2. Fixes (Bug fixes for supported projects, applying patches)
  3. Leadership (meeting scheduling/agenda/facilitation, community communication, administrivia, organizing tasks, and keeping the wiki up to date)

Leadership

NOTE: the lead has no special decision making power within the maint team, it is a service position
