Sakai Floating Chat
The aim of the Sakai floating chat project is to produce a chat tool that ... wait for it ... floats independently of sites and tools within sites. In other words, a Sakai user will be able to continue chatting whilst navigating between tools and doing stuff. The project hopes to produce a chat tool capable enough to be switched for the traditional Sakai chat tool without any loss in functionality but with a great gain in usability. There are two people working on this at the moment: Adrian Fish from Lancaster University and Stephen Marquard from the University of Cape Town.
The JIRA ticket that kicked all this off is here ; as prototypes are produced they'll be attached to the ticket for people to try out.
