Information

These are use cases for authoring templates, items, and scales. This covers the creation and layout of items for evaluations. It does not include the setup of the evaluation.

Use Cases

Creating a template to use in a survey

  • Goal: User wants to create a custom template of items which they can setup and deliver to users as a completed evaluation.
  • Actors: super user, instructor, site maintainer
  • Events:
    1. Login as instructor/evaluatee
    2. Click on My Templates and then Create New Template OR Create template
    3. Enter a title and/or description
    4. Choose a sharing option
    5. Add items to the template
      • See the adding items use case
    6. Rearrange the items order if desired
    7. Combine items into blocks if desired

Adding/Modifying items to an existing template

  • Goal: User wants to add new items to an existing template which they have created. User wants to make changes to items in a template they have created.
  • Actors: super user, instructor, site maintainer
  • Events:
    1. Login as instructor/evaluatee
    2. Click on My Templates
    3. Click on edit for the template you want to change to go to the list of items view for the template
    4. Choose a type of item to add from the pulldown and click add item
    5. Enter the item information and options
    6. Save the item and return to the listing of items for the template

Creating/Modifying owned items

  • Goal: User wants to create or modify items which they originally created.
  • Actors: super user, instructor, site maintainer
  • Events:
    1. Login as instructor/evaluatee
    2. Click on My Items
    3. Click on create item OR choose the item you want to modify and click edit
    4. Enter the item information and options
    5. Save the item and return to the listing of items you own

Creating/Modifying scales

  • Goal: Admin wants to change the scales used in the system.
  • Summary:
  • Actors: super user
  • Events:
    1. Login as super user
    2. Click on My Scales
    3. Click on add new scale OR select a scale and click modify
    4. Enter the scale information
    5. Save the scale and return to the listing of scales

Copying a template

  • Goal: User wants to make a copy of a template so they can reuse some of the items in it. User wants to make a copy of a template so they can leave the original one intact.
  • Actors: super user, instructor, site maintainer
  • Events:
    1. Login as instructor/evaluatee
    2. Click on My Templates
    3. Choose a template to copy
    4. Click copy and confirm to make a copy of the template
