Which Action links should be displayed below individual Citations (i.e. Find It!, Remove, Revise, View Full Record, etc.)? This refers to individual Citations on the Add/Edit/View Citation List pages.

Currently, it seems that we have 'Find It!' and 'Revise' (in edit mode) for sure. Also for sure is the action of clicking on the Citation Title to display the Citation's full record.

Other actions, such as Remove, Export, and custom URLs are still to be discussed.

See Citation List Actions and Adding custom URLs discussion pages.

I really like the checkbox model.  It seems as though there are actions that could be applied globally to the list of citations and those that would be only appropriate on an individual citation level.  For that reason, I would include a checkbox for the global actions such as:  remove checked, export checked, email checked and print checked [I added email and print just to be a pain   I saw these options, in one form or another, in the U of M Metalib, IU OneSearch and University of Georgia's GALILEO.].  I reworked one of Gaurav's graphics to demonstrate the look and feel.  It's at http://collab.sakaiproject.org/access/content/group/56906c31-35a4-410f-80be-05313218ab62/Wireframes/Picture1.png

On an individual citation level, I would include links for:  Find It! [full text], Related Web Page [for user added citations only], PDF Version [for user added citations only], View full record, and Edit/Revise Record.

I would then use checkboxes on the "Select A Citation" page similar to the page in Gaurav's PowerPoint instead of the add citation/remove citation model.

     My two cents...

I forgot to add that I would also have a [Select All] and [Select None] option under the global action buttons.

Susan, Jim, Bill and Gaurav's recommendation is to have 'Find It!', 'Revise' and "Custom URLs" (PDF Version, etc.) underneath an individual Citation. Clicking on the Citation Title will display a Full Record View (read-only).

Custom URL Labels should be limited to around 20 characters.

See Citation List Actions issue page for comments on Citation List-wide actions which relate to this issue.

The above comment works for me. Would we plan to use the phrase used by the individual institutions for the full text? I believe IU has an "IU [weird squigly thing] Link" which is the equivalent to "Find It!" in U of M land.
