It looks like uCamp is really coming together (just in the nick of time), http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/UI/U-Camp+Planning+Work. Mike E., Marc B. and I were on the call today. Mike joined us to say he's in and will have a presentation on accessibility to share at the conference...likely with Colin...hurrah!
The only other questionable session was the afternoon sessions "Redesigning Sakai tools based on requirements and Prioritizing issues". We changed this to only include the design aspect. With only a 1 1/2 hours trying to do more than one exercise seemed like overkill. I volunteered to pull together a high level overview to begin the session. Then we thought we could break out into smaller groups with a designer leading each group in a design brainstorm. (Side note: We'll need to have white boards and/or easels with plain paper. I can ask Mary about this.) The goal is to walk away with some design documentation that can be attached to jira tickets.
A couple outstanding issues:
-ACTION ITEM - Can everyone post 3 - 5 issues (design, usability, accessibility) you think are good candidates for this kind of exercise (diverse groups of 3 - 5, Short time frame, etc.) on the wiki: http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/UI/Design+workshop+ideas? We can decide on the best candidates next week.
-QUESTION - We'll need design facilitators for groups of 3 - 5 people (unsure how many will be at the uCamp) from various perspectives. Marc and I did a brainstorm of those going to the conference that might be willing candidates. Marc B., Mark Notess, Colin, Jackie, Julie, Tim, Hattie, Daphne, Others? Can you all let me know if you are willing to facilitate and if you know of anyone else that might be interested. We may not need this many people so also let me know if you're willing but would like to be on the "not needed" list for a bi if fewer people show up.
