After our meeting this morning, it seems that the Search Library Resources pop-up window will look essentially like the screenshot below. There may be asthetic changes and a discussion needs to be had on Search Results Paging, but options such as 'Max Records' and 'Start Record' need not be displayed to the user and are being used for testing purposes only.

This works for me. I think the "Max Records" and "Start Record" could be confusing to average users. I would only add the checkboxes and a button saying "Add checked to citation list."

Is it helpful to have the "Sort by" that Gaurav's PowerPoint had? Is this a necessary feature or too troublesome?

Also, "Sort By" will not be possible for Phase 1.

What would folks think of having a shaded bar with the "Search Library Resources" and "Search Results" highlighted? The page seeems to run together for me just a bit. I lose the "Search Results" heading among the other text. Also, do others feel a need to highlight the "add to citation list" text? Again, it doesn't pop for me among the text of the citations. Maybe brackets [add to citation list]?

The headings "Search Library Resources" and "Search Results" are h3 or h4 tags. In some skins, those are rendered with shaded bars. In others they are rendered without shaded bars. That depends entirely on the skin supplied the admins of the sakai server (OnCourse's skin uses a lot of red, while CTool's uses a lot of blue). It is generally not a good idea to hard-code things that should be left up to the skin. We could hard-code in a gray bar, but it might turn out that we select a shade of gray that is hideous with the particular shade of pink used as a highlight elsewhere in the page by the designers who create the skin for IU.

One more comment... what would folks think of numbering the citations and/or putting a shaded line between each citation similar to the way U of M results page looks to break up the listing?
