Notes regarding individual demonstrations:
- Twin Peaks Demo:
- The guy who deserves all the programming credit & the best POC for this is Steven Smail at ssmail@indiana.edu , who can address the technical details also.
- DEMO SITE : If you'd like to give Twin Peaks a try, browse to our demo site at http://129.79.35.230:8080/portal and enter with username of demonstration and pw of demo@iu . You will find the the "Playground" is wide open for you to try adding library resources to a new annoucement or such. When the usual WYSIWYG authoring tool appears, there should be a book icon that denotes Twin Peaks to the far right of the default icons in the task bar. (If it (or the whole tool set) doesn't appear in the normal Sakai authoring tool, refresh.) Once you retreive and choose some resources, you can format the resulting persistent links as you like (bulleted list, etc) in the authoring window using the other icons. Note that of course, you won't be able to get to those resources which are proprietary to the institution like EBSCOhost databases, yet most are non proprietary, including items like IU's Cushman photo collection, NYT media collection, and others. You'll be able to search the IU catalog or IU Electronic Reserves (uses Docutek product), but may not have rights to access results. - Ralph
