One other really nice thing on Bloglines: you can "Clip" posts that you really like to a sort of permanent archive (which then reminds me of del.icio.us). If you read instead Resource instead of "archive", I can definitely see a great enhancement of the News tool. One other necessity: the enduser should be able to define if a feed/post should be shared with other participants in the course or not (private).
